What timber we offer

Beams

Beams are the load-bearing elements – for roof structures, canopies, gazebos, fences, supports and frames. Tell us the cross-section and length you need, and the quantity – we’ll check what’s in stock that day and give you a price.

Boards

Boards are used for cladding, formwork, floors in farm buildings, fence panels, crates, shelving and hundreds of other jobs in construction and around the home. Many of our customers also buy boards to build their own skids and made-to-measure pallets.

Heavy planks

Heavy planks are thick boards that can take a greater load. They’re used for scaffolding, walkways, small bridges, steps, heavy-duty shelving and platforms. For these, the strength and flatness of the timber are especially important.

Tongue-and-groove panelling

Tongue-and-groove panelling is profiled timber for lining walls and ceilings – in houses, holiday homes, bathrooms, saunas, attics and gazebos. It gives a room a warm look and is relatively easy to install.

Impregnation in our own dip-treatment tank

Wood used outdoors or in damp conditions is exposed to rot, fungi and insects. Impregnation extends its life. At G-PAL we impregnate timber in our own dip-treatment tank. When the timber is fully immersed, the preservative covers the whole piece – including the ends and the spots that are often missed with a brush.

Impregnation makes particular sense for:

• fences, pergolas, gazebos and canopies;
• boards and beams in contact with soil or concrete;
• floors and skids in basements, garages and farm buildings;
• timber that will be stored outdoors for a long time before installation.

What the price of timber depends on

As with pallets, we don’t publish a price list because timber prices move. The price depends on:

• the type – beams, boards, heavy planks, panelling;
• the dimensions – cross-section and length;
• the quantity;
• impregnation, if required;
• delivery – collection from our yard or delivery to your address.

Delivery in Plovdiv and the province

Our yard is in Plovdiv, so we’re fastest in the city and the surrounding province. We deliver the same day to every district of Plovdiv – Trakia, Karshiyaka, Smirnenski, Yuzhen, Zapaden, Tsentralen and Severen – as well as to Asenovgrad, Rakovski, Stamboliyski, Krichim, Kuklen, Perushtitsa, Sadovo and the Maritsa and Rodopi municipalities. We also deliver anywhere in Bulgaria; the delivery cost depends on distance and quantity. There is no fixed minimum. Details: Pallet delivery.

Timber and pallets from one supplier

Many customers who buy timber also need pallets – to store the timber, for shipments or for the warehouse. With us, you can order everything in a single delivery:

• new EPAL and UIC euro pallets;
• used pallets – light and dark;
• wooden skids and non-standard sizes made to order;
• pallet collars 1200×800.

And if you have pallets left over after a construction project, we buy them back – we come, inspect, pay on the spot and load. The truck can bring your timber and take the pallets on the way back, with their value deducted from your bill.

How to order the right quantity

The most common mistake when buying timber is to order by eye. Then it turns out a few boards are missing and another trip is needed, or there are leftovers. Before you call, make a short list: which elements you need (beams, boards, heavy planks, panelling), in what sizes and how many pieces or linear metres. Add a small allowance for offcuts and defects. If you’re not sure, tell us what you’re building and the dimensions of the project – we’ll help you work it out.

Think about impregnation in advance too. It’s much easier to dip-treat timber before it’s cut and installed than to brush it afterwards, when some surfaces are no longer accessible.

Storing timber

While it’s waiting to be installed, timber should be kept dry, on a level base and raised off the ground – for example on pallets or skids. It’s a good idea to put spacers between the layers so that air can circulate. That way the wood won’t warp or absorb moisture. If you don’t have suitable bearers, we can deliver them with the timber.
