New or used — which to choose

The difference is not only price. Here is when each makes sense.

Choose new pallets if

  • the goods are going for export and a clean, marked pallet is required;
  • your customer requires EPAL certification;
  • you are loading food, pharmaceuticals or anything where cleanliness is a condition;
  • the pallet will be used repeatedly over a long period.

Used pallets are enough if

  • the movement is internal — between workshops, warehouses or sites;
  • the pallet is one-way and will not come back;
  • you want to cut packaging cost without losing load capacity.

Every used pallet we sell is inspected and sorted. We do not sell pallets with broken boards or damaged blocks.

Wholesale pallets

For quantities of a full truck and above we work to a schedule. Tell us the volume you need per month and we plan production and deliveries around you, instead of you waiting on stock. We load from our warehouse in Plovdiv with our own transport.

Pallet prices

We quote on request, and that is not evasion — the price of a pallet depends on four things:

  1. new or used, and if used, in what condition;
  2. quantity — the price for 50 pieces and for 5,000 is not the same;
  3. whether an EPAL stamp is required or a standard UIC pallet will do;
  4. where it is going — delivery to Plovdiv and to Varna are not the same.

Rather than publish a number that will not apply to your case, we answer enquiries within the working day.

Selling pallets — we buy them back

If you receive goods on pallets and they pile up, we buy them. We inspect on site, pay immediately and collect with our own transport.

Delivery across Bulgaria

We run our own trucks, which means the schedule is ours rather than a carrier’s. See delivery.

Frequently asked questions about pallets

What is the difference between an EPAL and a UIC pallet?

The size is identical — 1200×800×144 mm. The difference is the licence: an EPAL pallet carries the oval stamp on its corner blocks, is exchangeable within the European pool and can be repaired by a licensed operator. A UIC pallet has no such stamp, is not part of the exchange and costs less. There is a full comparison in our article on EPAL or UIC pallets.

How much does a euro pallet weigh and what load does it carry?

A dry euro pallet weighs between 22 and 25 kg. Capacity depends on how it is loaded: 1500 kg while being moved, 4000 kg standing still on a flat floor, and 1000 kg in racking, where the pallet is supported only on two beams. That last figure is the lowest and the one most often overlooked.

Should I buy new or used pallets?

Used pallets do the job for one-way transport, internal movement around a warehouse and on construction sites. New pallets are needed for food and pharmaceutical goods, in automated warehouses where dimensions must be millimetre-accurate, and whenever a customer specifies them by contract.

Do you make pallets in non-standard sizes?

Yes. For an accurate quote we need the overall dimensions, the weight of the load, whether the deck should be solid or slatted, where the pallet will stand and whether it leaves the EU. With those five answers we give a price within the working day.

How many pallets fit in a truck?

A standard 13.6 m semi-trailer takes 33 euro pallets in one layer and up to 66 double-stacked. A 20-foot container takes 11, a 40-foot container 24 to 25. Bear in mind the pallets are payload themselves — 33 of them weigh over 800 kg empty.

Do I need a special pallet for export?

For export outside the EU, wooden packaging must be heat treated and carry an ISPM 15 stamp. Within the Union it is not required. More in our article on ISPM 15 for export pallets.
